08 August 2017, SINGAPORE. In 2017, the Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES), Asia’s leading thought leadership platform that brings focus to clean energy technology, policy and finance, will take place from 24-26 October 2017 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. It also includes an exhibition, which is a marketplace for companies to showcase latest clean energy technologies and solutions.
Supported by leading government agencies, local and international research institutes and industry players, ACES 2017 is an opportunity for leaders from the public and private sectors to come together to collaborate on critical issues and opportunities to harness clean energy for the future.
Kavita Gandhi, Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), said, “The programme for ACES in 2017 is robust and has already attracted leading figures from the industry to participate, including Jon Moore, CEO of Bloomberg New Energy Finance and Steve O’Neil, CEO of REC Solar, a leading integrated global provider of solar energy solutions, who is based in Singapore”.
Other speakers include Didier Holleaux, Executive Vice-President of ENGIE; Ditlev Engel, CEO of DNV GL - Energy; Goh Swee Chen, Chairman of Shell Companies in Singapore and Bernard Salha, Senior Executive Vice President of EDF Group.
“ACES 2017 helps to shape the future of clean energy and smart-sustainable cities by enabling exploration of, and collaboration for, innovative clean energy solutions within a vibrant ecosystem of technology and service companies, research institutes and energy leaders,” she added. “Last year, we attracted over 4,000 delegates and visitors to the conference and exhibition, which included over 70 exhibitors primarily from Asia and Europe. The themes of the conference and exhibition that follow are Solar, Smart Grids, Bioenergy/Biofuels/Biogas, Energy Storage, Wind/ Wave & Tidal/ Hydropower and Waste to Energy.”
The ACES 2017 programme includes the Clean Energy Leaders' Dialogue, a high-level forum bringing together leaders in the regional solar and renewables space. The overarching conference also includes panel discussions on Solarising Singapore and Asia, where business and technology experts in the region speak about opportunities in solar energy as well as renewable energy in general.
The conference also incorporates the Financial Summit, which provides insightful tracks that focus on the financial aspects of renewable project development, financing and investment. Another track includes Digital Transformation of Energy; a track that examines how digitalisation of energy and IoT will lead to optimisation as well as efficiency in the multi energy systems.
Co-located with ACES is European Union Business Avenues (EUBA) and the RE:NEW Awards ceremony.
EUBA is a business support programme organised and funded by the European Union (EU). The programme aims to help European companies establish long-lasting collaborations in South East Asia through matchmaking and business support services.
Inaugurated in 2017, the RE:NEW Awards will celebrate individuals, youths and corporations who have invented or adopted sustainability solutions to lower our collective carbon footprint. Conceived by RHT Digital & Media and the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), they will recognise an Innovator of the Year, a Company of the Year, a Young Champion of the Year and an Adopter of the Year.
