Singapore’s NTU: Wood Construction Pioneer

Europe has led the way in recent years with some truly impressive wooden buildings, but Asia is fighting back. Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has announced plans for an impressive US$130million, six storey academic building built from wood. It will be the largest in Asia.

Mantanani is a remote island northwest of Kota Belud in the South China Sea, off the coast of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Last month it saw a group of keen architecture students working through an innovative three-week design challenge to build a village centre using recycled and renewable resources.
