The Upcycle Project

The Upcycle Project by Participate in Design in Singapore involves local residents and the wider design community to come together to create functional works of art in collaborative style. Watch this short video to learn more.

Inspired by the potential that storytelling has to move people, change perspectives and connect neighbours, The Upcycle Project aims to facilitate meaningful exchanges of stories and objects between various stakeholders in the MacPherson community. Through a series of engagement with the residents of MacPherson, we will collect unused furniture and everyday objects and upcycle them for new owners and uses. These objects and their accompanying stories will be showcased at our Arts Village in varying stages of upcycling. Together, they form a snapshot of a community and their collective capacity to contribute to their neighbourhood, using existing resources that they hold. http://participateindesign.org/the-upcycle-project/ To get involved, say hello to lets@participateindesign.org A P!D Initiative by: Jan Lim Mizah Rahman Directed & Produced by: Tan Hong Guan (PRODDDesign) Jonathan Yue
