Biorock Training Workshop for Reef Restoration

The Biorock process is a tried and tested reef restoration technology used in more than 20 countries world-wide to regenerate coral reefs, prevent beach erosion, restore fisheries habitat, and preserve and restore marine biodiversity. This 7th International Biorock Reef Restoration Training Workshop is supported by PADI and Project AWARE. Join the workshop and learn how to restore the coral reefs using the Biorock method.

Dr. Tom Goreau, President of the Global Coral Reef Alliance, and co-inventor of the Biorock technology, will give lectures and presentations about worldwide coral threats, coral diseases, global warming and its effects on coral reefs and beach erosion, reef restoration programs, and theory and practice of Biorock technology, including design, construction, installation, monitoring, maintenance, and repair. Reef experts will show presentations about coral reefs and marine studies, films and slide shows.

Carnival Celebrating Eco Life to Lower Carbon Emissions - A Ground-up Initiative project

This event is mooted by first by http://www.1010global.org/  to get everyone to cut carbon by 10% starting 2010 and then adopted by http://www.350.org/  to put a definitive figure CO2 from current 392 parts per million to 350 parts in the atmosphere, which is the safe limit for humanity.
10.10.10 will be a day of global doing and a day to celebrate climate solutions.

The Office of Environmental Sustainability (OES), National University of Singapore and the Workplace Research Centre (WRC), University of Sydney are jointly organizing The National Sustainability Conference 2010, entitled “Environmental Up-Skilling & the Green Collar Economy”.
